I Will Arise
By: Judy Dyck
The way is dark.
It's long. It's cold.
Yet we travel,
As those of old.
We tread this path;
We walk this way
As Christians have
Since ancient day.
The trail is rough;
It's hard to keep.
It winds o'er hills
And mountains steep.
With each hard step
And every climb,
We seem to stumble more each time.
At last we fall
In sheer defeat;
With grim despair
Its might we meet.
But yet we cry,
Though on our knee:
"Through Jesus' power,
Victory!"
“Do not rejoice,
Oh Enemy;
For though it's dark,
His light I see!
And as I lift
To Him my eyes-
Yes, though I fall,
I SHALL ARISE!"
